Dec 27, 2024 – Winter Break Kids Drop in Acorn Craft & Story

Workshop time: Any time between 10am – noon
Workshop Location: East Classroom
Workshop price: $5 members, $6 non-members
No registration required. This is a drop-in event.

Join us for a winter craft and story in the barn during winter break! This drop-in small craft will allow you to get outside and enjoy some sunshine while working on something fun. For this Drop in craft kiddos will be making fabric acorns. We will teach them how to do a simple running stitch and will have a volunteer intermittently reading a story about an acorn throughout the event. Join us for a morning of fun at the farm!

No registration required. This is a drop-in event.

There’s always a point in winter break when we get a little stir crazy, so come get some energy out at Soule! For this drop-in winter craft day we will be making pine cone snow friends and volunteers will be reading a book about pine cones intermittently throughout the event. If the weather allows take a walk out on our hiking trails and stretch those legs! We can’t wait to see you at the farm.

2025 Workshops

Jan 11, 2025 – Felted Basket Workshop

Workshop time: 10am – 12:30pm
Workshop Price: $55 members, $65 non-members

Workshop Location: West Classroom

Join us for a felted wool basket workshop at Soule Homestead. During this 2.5 hour class students will learn the fundamentals of wet wool felting, a textile technique that has been around for thousands of years. Artists Linda Malis will teach students about wool, wool fibers, and then walk them through the process of wet felting. Students will leave the class with a finished wool basket of their own to take home. Dress to craft, in clothes that can get a little dirty. At time of registration students can select whether they’d like to make a natural wool basket or a wine colored basket.

Jan 18th, 2025 – Rug Braiding Workshop

Workshop Time: Runs typically every 3rd Saturday, at 10:30am – 1:30pm (check dates below)
Workshop Fee: $30 for new member students & $40 for new non-members for each of first 2 classes, and then $15 for returning members, $25 returning for non-members
Workshop Location: East Classroom
Pre-registration is now required. We need a minimum of 6 attendees to run the class. Registration closes Wednesday before the workshop.

Join our rug braiding workshop with instructor Mary Guidoboni. Discover this uniquely American art form. All levels are welcome. Students returning from past sessions may bring unfinished projects to work on. Everyone should bring scissors, needles, thread, and wool (available for new students.) Wool available to purchase here. The instructor has requested a minimum of 6 students to run the class, so registration in advance is required. Thank you for understanding.

Jan 25, 2025 – Embroidery Workshop

Workshop time: 10am – 11:30am
Workshop Price: $30 members, $40 non-members

Workshop Location: West Classroom

Join Embroidered Events for a fun and cozy workshop where attendees will make their own personalized embroidered sweaters. In this workshop you will learn the basics of designing and creating your very own embroidered sweater just in time for fall and to start on holiday gifts for everyone you know! Imagine this level of cuteness for the whole family. Attendees will need to bring their own knit sweater to the workshop – any size is great. Other materials (yarn, needles, and water soluble ink pen) will be provided by the instructor and students can take home.

Dec 6th & 9th, 2025 – Wreath Workshops

Because of the popularity of this workshop we have made this open to MEMBERS ONLY until November 15th. On that date all wreath workshops will be opened up to the general public. If you are not a member, become one today and help support our non-profit and get a discount on this and other events/workshops at Soule for a whole year.
